Online Driving Schools

Online driving schools are, in essence, traffic school courses that is taken or completed on the Internet. Basically, online driving schools have the same content as regular traffic schools except for the fact that the violator or driver can take the course at his own pace and at his own time. Online driving schools were conceptualized in 1998 as means of extending traffic school to include "home-studying" mainly due to the Internet's increasing popularity.

Usually violators and drivers can avail of driving lessons in a regular intensive driving course. In online driving schools, the course curriculum and content is pretty much based on the requirements the state or court imposes. While online driving school courses can be taken in smaller sessions unlike the regular courses where the driver has to sit through one whole day of seminar, the total number of hours remains complete and must be completed up to the very last second.

Since the course can be completed without a real instructor supervising the course taken, the chances of somebody else taking the course are quite high. A plan was once made to alleviate the chances of cheating, but a lot of people protested, arguing that the plan defeated the purpose of online driving schools.

In order to make online driving schools as close to a classroom setting as possible, numerous security controls such as pop quizzes, security questions, video streaming, and page timers have been implemented just recently. These tactics help the course taker from skipping through the entire course, and it forces the person to pay attention to the materials being presented. In a way, online driving schools come off as more challenging to the course taker with its numerous security measures. Compared to the regular driving lessons, online driving classes may be a bit more effective in teaching the lessons at hand.
